Indicative starting prices below. Every engagement is confirmed with a written scope and fee before any work begins — and the fee in your engagement letter is the fee, full stop.
Most clients land in one of these four. The exact fee depends on the documents — the figures below are the floor for each category, with add-ons listed further down.
Single filer, UK employment income
The standard package for a US citizen or Green Card holder living in the UK with straightforward employment income.
ISAs, OEICs, brokerage, UK pensions
When the UK side has more than a current account — ISAs and unit trusts trigger PFIC rules, pensions need treaty disclosure.
Multi-year non-filers wanting back into compliance
Three years of returns + six years of FBARs + the non-willfulness narrative. Scoped per case based on document availability.
LLCs, partnerships, S-Corp, C-Corp, Form 5471
Cross-border business filings — entity selection, K-1 distribution, foreign-shareholder structures. Priced per filing and complexity.
Each Form 8621 after the first.
California, New York, etc — added per state where required.
Per category-of-filer treatment.
To capture missed credits, treaty positions, or prior-year errors.
Charged separately at hourly rates only on returns prepared by another firm.
Tax preparation isn't a creative profession — most engagements have a defined scope and a defined output. Hourly billing puts the wrong incentive on the preparer (slower work = more revenue) and creates anxiety for the client. Fixed fees solve both.
We pause and re-quote. You sign off on any scope expansion before we continue, so the original quote is the only number you commit to until you choose otherwise.
Yes, for engagements over £1,500. Half upfront and half on completion is standard; longer plans are available for Streamlined catch-up cases.
If we made an error, we fix it at no charge. If you're unhappy with the work itself, we'll discuss it — and unwind the engagement if we can't get to a resolution. We're members of the ACCA complaints framework, which any UK client can use.
Most quotes are back to you within 2 working days. The quote is the floor; we'll only revise if scope changes and you sign off.
